Rental Terms and Conditions

The rental terms and conditions as drawn up by Bovag, as well as the additional terms and conditions of the rental company, apply to the rental of a bicycle. The full version is available here and will be provided upon request.

• The rental company is Fietsverhuur WIMO Vlieland, Dorpsstraat 2, 8899 AH, Vlieland.
• The renter is liable for the rented item (in the case of groups, the main renter).
• The renter is obliged to report damage and/or loss to the rental company as soon as possible.
• The rented item may not be used outside the designated roads and paths. (Therefore, the bicycles may NOT go onto the beach).
• The rented item must be returned to the branch where it was rented, unless otherwise agreed with the rental company.
• The rented item may not leave the island without written permission from the rental company.
• It is prohibited to carry passengers on the back (only in child seats).
• It is not permitted to make changes to the bicycle (attaching your own bicycle trailer is also not allowed); we are happy to assist you if you require modifications. It is not permitted to carry out repairs to the rented item without the landlord’s permission.
• The renter is obliged to take good care of the bicycle:
  • The bicycle must be locked. In the event of a lost key, a fee of €12.50 will be charged for making a new key.
  • The electric bicycle must be charged according to the instructions.
  • The renter must ensure that the bicycle is not used by anyone who is unable to do so.
• Payment is made prior to the rental period, unless otherwise agreed (with the landlord’s permission). In the latter case, payment must be made within 14 days.
• The landlord reserves the right to charge a deposit.
• Returning the rented item early does not entitle the renter to a refund.
• The landlord reserves the right to comply with the rental conditions even in the event of unforeseen circumstances. An example of this is the cancellation or rescheduling of the ferry service departure from Texel, Terschelling, or Harlingen for any reason whatsoever. The lessor reserves the right to repossess the bicycle, without entitlement to a refund of the rental fee, in the event of non-compliance with these rental conditions.
